The Sims 2 Basement Tutorial

Postby jenkins4 on Tue Mar 18, 2008 10:20 pm

Basements
Right creating a basement is really quite easy once you get the grasp of it, in this tutorial I will take you through it step by step & then after that you can start making more complex basement on your own .

^ Meet Matt, he will be the guy who guides you through the rest of this tutorial

Step 1) Ok first you need to get yourself a nice new plot to build this on, then make your foundation as usual.

* If you want your basement to be a specific size, you will need to add an extra one tile width on each side.

Step 2) Next you need to remove the inside of your foundation, you do this by hodlding Ctrl & pulling a box inside the foundation (with the foundation tool still selected).

* You need to make sure you leave a one tile border.

Step 3) Now you need to add a wall covering with a border, its almost impossible to make a basement if your wall doesn't have some kind of border to it (remember you can always change it once your done) .

Step 4) With your wall covering applied, start to lower the terrain to the bottom of the border.

* Once you have one area lowered, you can level the rest out .

Final Step) Choose a staircase and place it in the basement.
* If your having difficulty placing it you may need to higher/lower your terrain.

Thats it, heres the finished product. All ready for you to furnish.
